20 Oct Amazing Athletes of Eastern Oklahoma and Monterey’s Little Mexico team up to raise funds for Sequoyah Elementary School’s sports enrichment program
Youth sports enrichment franchise and Tulsa-area Tex-Mex café are joining hands to make Amazing Athletes’ program available to all students at the low-income elementary school.
Although Amazing Athletes is easily on of the students’ favorite classes at Sequoyah Elementary, many families are unable to pay for the monthly fee to bring the program to their children’s school. In order to keep the active sports enrichment program going for yet another year, parents, neighbors, family and friends of Sequoyah are encouraged to dine out at Monterey’s from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Oct. 23 to lend their support to the local school while enjoying a delicious Tex-Mex style meal at the 17th and Sheridan restaurant location.
“At Amazing Athletes, we try to do as much in the community as possible,” said Amazing Athletes of Eastern Oklahoma owner, Michael Amberg. “Sequoyah Elementary is a low-income school and has many children whose parents have no way of paying for Amazing Athletes classes. We feel that this should not prevent these children from having the opportunity to become more active and learn all about sports.”
On Oct. 13 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monterey’s Little Mexico diners can show the attached flyer to their server, and 20% of their bill will be automatically donated to Sequoyah Elementary School’s fund that helps low-income families pay for Amazing Athletes classes for their kids.
Here’s how it works:
- Dine out at Monterey’s Little Mexico on 17th and Sheridan on Thursday, Oct. 23.
- Show the attached flyer (either printed or on your phone) to your server before receiving your bill.
- 20% of your bill will be automatically donated to Sequoyah Elementary School’s fund to support its youth sports enrichment program!
In case you are unable to make it on Oct. 23, there will be additional fundraising opportunities for the school at Monterey’s on Thursday, Nov. 20 and Thursday, Dec. 18 as well.
