Amazing Athletes owner throws first pitch at Tulsa Drillers’ baseball game!

Amazing Athletes of Eastern Oklahoma owner, Michael Amberg, threw out the honorary first pitch at ONEOK Field for the Tulsa Drillers‘ gameday matchup against the Springfield Cardinals on June 18.

Thanks to Amberg’s many years of experience as a baseball pitcher spanning from Little League to high school, his pitch was perfect — right down the middle with good velocity!

“I was a touch nervous, but I thrive off of nerves,” he said. “I played baseball, and pitched, from T-ball all the way through high school. It’s still my favorite sport.”
Although the Drillers fell 7-5 against the Cardinals, Amberg emphasized that sports is all about good fun and trying your best.

“The Drillers never gave up and gave it everything they had, which is exactly what I tell all of our little athletes in Amazing Athletes,” Amberg said. “I tell them that I don’t care if they come in first or last, just as long as they can look me in the eye and tell me they gave it everything they had.”
